Fee Arrangements
- We represent clients under a broad array of fee and expense structures,
and tailor each case to the specific needs of the client and matter at hand.
We also work closely with prospective clients to arrive in each instance at a
fee arrangement that takes into account not only the complexity of the client's
case, but also the client's ability to afford the representation. Very often,
businesses and business persons will not have the resources or the ability to
mount a legal challenge to conduct that has aggrieved then if doing so requires
the payment of counsel fees on a traditional hourly basis. In many instances,
the very course of wrongful conduct that has been directed to them deprives
them of the ability or the wherewithal to do so.
We believe that every prospective client is entitled to it's day in court with
respect to a wrong that has been visited upon it. Therefore, unlike many law
firms who undertake commercial litigation, we work closely with prospective
clients to develop a fee structure that is best suited to the circumstances.
We routinely undertake complex commercial matters on a contingency basis, under
which we are compensated only if the client prevails. We have also represented
clients on the basis of an hourly fee structure, as well as on a blended
contingency basis, under which the client pays a discounted hourly rate as
well as an agreed upon percentage of its recovery. The firm's clients have
benefited from the result-driven nature of these fee arrangements.
Of course, all of our fee arrangements are fully consistent with the applicable
codes of professional responsibility.
