THE ATTORNEYS: Anthony J. Bolognese
  • Anthony J. Bolognese is the founding principal of Bolognese & Associates, LLC. Mr. Bolognese is a graduate of St. Joseph's University (B.A. 1979) and Temple University School of Law (J.D. 1982), where he served on the Editorial Board of the Temple Law Review. Mr. Bolognese served as law clerk for the Honorable Raymond J. Broderick of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and for the Honorable Francis L. Van Dusen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Bolognese is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, and of the American Bar Association's Antitrust and Litigation Sections. Mr. Bolognese is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and has been admitted pro hac vice in federal courts nationally.

  • Mr. Bolognese has had extensive experience as counsel in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the nation, with a particular concentration and emphasis in individual and class action litigation under the state and federal antitrust laws. Mr. Bolognese has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in other commercial litigation.

  • Mr. Bolognese has served with distinction in such cases, and this has not gone unnoticed by the Courts before which he has appeared. Chief Judge Donald E. Ziegler of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, presiding over a case in which Mr. Bolognese had significant leadership responsibility, recently observed that "plaintiffs' counsel are lawyers with extensive experience in antitrust and multiparty litigation," and held "without hesitation" that plaintiffs' counsel had adequately represented the interests of their clients. See In re Flat Glass Antitrust Litigation, 191 F.R.D. 472, 480 (W.D.Pa. 1999). The Court went so far as to observe that "[t]he Court is fortunate to have the assistance of able lawyers" to address the complexities of that case. 191 F.R.D. at 489.

  • Similarly, in another antitrust action in which Mr. Bolognese served as a Co-Lead Counsel, the Court in approving the settlement of that case stated that that "the Plaintiff Class members were well served by attorneys who were highly experienced and nationally recognized in class action litigation generally and anti-trust litigation in particular. . . . . Plaintiff Class counsel['s] . . . work was efficiently conducted. Counsel diligently developed the facts and legal issues, analyzed a multitude of documents, were steadfast in settlement negotiations with the . . . Defendants, and, ultimately, achieved an excellent result. " In re Residential Doors Antitrust Litigation, 1998 WL 151804, at p. 8 (E.D.Pa. 1998).
